About The Shepherd Home Care
At The Shepherd Home Care, our mission is simple: to serve seniors and their families with compassion, dignity, and trust.
Our founder, Mina Alexander, has spent more than 14 years serving the senior community across Northern Virginia. The journey into healthcare began with studying to become an EMT and volunteering to help save lives — an experience that built a deep respect for caring for others during some of their most vulnerable moments.
Over the years, that calling grew into a career working across many areas of senior care — including Durable Medical Equipment, Assisted Living communities, Home Care, and Home Health. But this work is not only professional; it is deeply personal.
At the age of 16, Mina became the primary caregiver for his father after a major accident left him disabled. That experience shaped a lifelong understanding of what families go through when caring for a loved one at home. Today, he continues to proudly serve and care for both of his parents, who live with him.
